Directions: May bank lies just to the east of Newcastle-under-Lyme. To get there, take the A500 east from junction 15 of the M6 and follow signs for Stoke. Just after the junction with A53 May bank will be signposted to the left

Situated amidst the leafy suburbs of May bank Marsh, The Oxford Arms offers a unique combination of both quality dining and high-class live entertainment. The proprietor, Mark Anthony Fallon, is a well-respected music agent and highly skilled chef. With over 20 years' experience in the licensed trade and entertainment business he has sought to create a venue that offers everything a community could want all under one roof.

Dating back to the 1930s, there was once a colliery and steel works located behind the pub, but sadly these are long gone. Inside visitors will find a spacious, recently refurbished public bar complete with large screen TV for all the major sporting events.

There is a relaxed, comfortable snug which also serves as a non-smoking restaurant area, a games rooms with pool table and jukebox, and finally a lounge room which can hold up to 220 people and is the venue for the live entertainment which is held most nights of the week.

Mark uses his culinary skills to offer a varied menu of carefully selected dishes catering to all tastes. Food is available most lunch times (closed Monday lunch) Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings 5.30pm to 8.00pm and children are welcome in the snug. The Oxford stocks a fine array of cask beers, with London Pride and Abbots ale a regular feature, together with two rotating guest ales and a good selection of keg bitters, lagers and stout.
